But what is ‘Nature Positive’, and why does it matter so much that you should read a book about it?
André Hoffmann, Vice-Chairman of Roche, Board Member of World Economic Forum and supporter of the Nature Positive Initiative explains:
‘Nature Positive’ is a recently agreed upon global goal to “halt and reverse nature loss by 2030 on a 2020 baseline and achieve full recovery by 2050.” It is a goal I hope everyone can get behind.
But if we want to achieve this goal, and regenerate nature, then every stakeholder in society – including business, finance, government, society, and academia – also needs to know what they can do about it, and how they can integrate this goal into their own activities.
That is what ‘Becoming Nature Positive’ is about. This book provides a panoramic view of what Nature Positive is, how it came about, and how a broad coalition of stakeholders is going about achieving it. I hope you find it an inspiring read and invite you to join us in our quest to make Nature Positive a reality.
The book includes chapters on the following areas:
Part I: The Journey So Far
- The Genesis of Nature Positive
- The ‘Great Rise’ (of humanity) and the ‘Great Decline’ (of nature)
