Turn 30×30 into Lasting Conservation: partnerships and finance for effective, equitable and connected protected and conserved areas

Location: Main Room

Organizers: Vale, Brazilian Private Reserves Network

As the CBD Global Biodiversity Framework moves from commitments to implementation, the challenge is no longer simply to increase the number of hectares under effective conservation. The more difficult question is how to ensure that protected and conserved areas remain effectively managed, ecologically connected, socially legitimate and financially viable over time. This roundtable will bring together corporate conservation practitioners, members of the Brazilian Private Reserves Network, environmental authorities and NGOs to explore how corporate investment and partnerships can enable public policy, scientific standards and innovative finance that reinforce and scale conservation outcomes.

Moderator: Alessandro Valentini/ WEF. Panelists: Camilla Lott, Vale Sustainability Director. We are inviting as panelists other Private Reserves Network (Suzano, still in confirmation), Brazilian environmental agencies (ICMBio) and IUCN.
