Securing Forests: Critical Infrastructure for the Global Economy
Forested landscapes are critical infrastructure for the global economy. They underpin food, energy, and water security, support livelihoods and provide critical ecosystem services. Yet there is an estimated forest finance gap of USD 200 billion annual. How can business, governments, Indigenous Peoples, and local communities mobilize investment to halt deforestation, scale restoration and fully realize the economic value of forests?
This session will explore new economic models for forest financing and how robust public-private partnerships on forests can provide a shared foundation for resilient growth and shared prosperity.
