This session unpacks insights, best practice examples, and tensions in measuring nature impact and progress and reflects on how a harmonized approach can level the playing field for business and finance.
Business accountability on nature is rapidly moving from ambition to measurable action, yet companies still face a fragmented landscape of metrics, methodologies, and disclosure expectations. This session unpacks practical insights and best practice examples of how companies are managing and measuring nature impacts, while exploring the tensions involved in getting measurement right. Drawing on case studies – including contributions to the Global Biodiversity Framework, driving supply chain action, and quantifying nature-related interventions – the session reflects on the need for a harmonized nature measurement protocol to level the playing field, enabling consistent reporting and helping financial institutions and other stakeholders reward nature-positive outcomes.
