This event examines what it will take to move wetland protection and restoration finance from isolated pilots and grant-funded projects to investable, scalable financing models. (tbc)
Wetlands are among the most powerful yet undervalued tools for building climate adaptation and resilience. Yet despite protecting hundreds of millions of people from floods, droughts and storm surges, supporting water security and livelihoods and storing vast quantities of blue carbon, wetlands remain chronically underfunded and largely absent from emerging voluntary carbon and adaptation finance markets. This event brings together leading voices from finance, conservation and the private sector to explore how new approaches to adaptation and resilience finance can unlock investment in wetland conservation and restoration at scale whilst delivering for KM-GBF.
