Location: Small Room
Organizers: Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities Engagement Forum
A dialogue bringing together standards bodies, Indigenous Peoples, local communities, and practitioners to share experiences, challenges and emerging good practices for recognising Indigenous Peoples’ knowledge within market frameworks.
This closed-door dialogue will bring together Indigenous Peoples, local communities, carbon and biodiversity standards, project practitioners and other market actors to explore how Indigenous Peoples’ knowledge, local knowledges and customary governance can be meaningfully recognised, respected, and protected in standards and practice. Through moderated discussions, participants will share effective approaches for the meaningful inclusion of Indigenous Peoples’ knowledge and customary governance in standards, examine implementation challenges, and identify opportunities for further strengthening. Convened by the Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities Engagement Forum (hosted by ICVCM), the session will build relationships and generate insights to inform the Forum’s work.
